Dundrum Make Short Work Of Saintfield
Written by Jeff Maguire
DUNDRUM WON THEIR 2ND DERBY GAME BY BEATING SAINTFIELD BY 9 WKS WITH THE SAINTS WERE MISSING FOUR OF THEIR BEST BATSMEN BUT IT WAS A VERY STRANGE DECISION TOO BAT FIRST AS SURELY WITH THEIR FULL BOWLING ATTACK THEY SHOULD HAVE FANCIED THAT THEY COULD BOWL DUNDRUM OUT OR AT LEAST KEEP IT TILL A MANAGABLE TARGET TOO CHASE DOWN.
Dundrum Cricket Club is holding its first ever cricket coaching shcool over 3 days July 16, 17 18 starting at 1oclock til 4pm.The price is 20£ with concessions for familys & the club advises pre booking as their will be limit, Phone Jeff Maguire 02843751442 for any details.
Dundrum won a very competive derby game in THE MEADOW beating Downpatrick (missing 3 players) by a comfortable 47 runs but both teams gave lots of their best in front of the biggest crowd at our village ground & no doubt the return will also a fiesty encounter but i can assure anyone Dundrum will improve as they start believing in themselves their all round game has improvement as the coach Manni Fernando has been working overtime in instilling his good ideas on the squad & Gavin Mcnerlin wiil testify too that as he batted 50 overs for 74 (no disrepect but he told Manni that it was his coaching that provided him with determination too see his innings thru ) the club is indebted too the work that Manni is doing and hopefully it will continue as the club needs a 5year plan too get as many kids involved as possible .
