Dundrum AGM

Dundrum's AGM took place last night with the major changes confirming that Gavin McNerlin has agreed to captain the side in 2009.  The other notable change has allowed a member of the youth set-up to join the committee.  This will hopefully provide a fresh insight into what our younger players want.
 

Section Averages

The section averages were revealed at the end of last week with Dundrum having a player in the top ten for batting and bowling.  Lee Connor finished with the third best bowling average and leading wicket taker in a superb season.  Rodney Hassard also finished a decent season creeping in at number 10 in the batting averages while finishing with 20 wickets and top catcher in the section.

 

Dunmurry in Senior Cup

Dundrum have been handed a tough first round tie at home to newly promoted Dunmurry in the 2009 Senior Cup.  The giant killers from last year will meet Instonians if they progress to the next stage of the cup.
   

Saintfield Lose Appeal

Saintfield have lost their appeal to stay in Section 2.  They will now ply their trade next year in Section 3 although it is hoped they can come straight back up again as the local derbies are always matches to look forward to, in addition to playing at their superb ground.
 

Big Lee Takes Player of the Year

There was really only one winner for dundrum's player of the season this year and justice was done when Lee Connor was named player of the year at Dundrum's awards dinner.  The big man was in great form averaging 3 wickets a game ending up with a total of 41 wickets - the leagues highest wicket taker by a country mile.
